Friday’s Fave Five

It’s been a very strange week in which almost every day felt like Friday. I’ve no idea why. Here are some highlights for Friday’s Fave Five.

Sunshine! The weather has such a strong effect on my mood sometimes. We’ve enjoyed an abundance of clear blue skies, warm temperature, and SUNSHINE this week.

Coffee with a kindred. Coffee (or tea) and conversation with someone who “gets” you, and even shares some things that others might not understand, is perfectly priceless.

A pedicure. This is the #1 way I choose to pamper myself. Sharing it with a friend makes it all the more special. (Finding a great new colour is a bonus!)

Routine. Life with the new pup is settling into a regular routine. We’re all the better for it.

A new Netflix series. We just finished watching the all 21 seasons of Midsomer Murders. It’s been our pandemic program for many months. I stumbled across The Queen’s Gambit last night. The storyline has many layers—plus there’s chess. There are only seven episodes so, unfortunately, it won’t last long. Oh, and there’s also a new season of The Crown available.

So that’s it. Simple things, but good things, and now it really is Friday. I have no commitments away from home. I think I’ll put up the non-traditional trees.

(One of the good things about having two blogs, is being able to participate in both Friday’s Fave Five AND Five Minute Friday. Here’s a link to the FMF post on my other blog.)

  1. Two blogs???? I can barely keep up with my one!! You must be retired!!

I loved The Queens Gambit as did my husband. I'm about half way through season 3 of the Crown. And our oldest daughter is almost done well the Midsummer Murders. I've watched just a couple,of seasons of that series. I also enjoyed the latest season of Call the Midwives. It's one of my faves.

Yay for sunshine and coffee dates and pedicures.

    Have a happy weekend!

Yes, I like Call the Midwife too but it's not hubby's favourite. Happy weekend to you too. :-)

  2. Last summer, we gave up Netflix since we have Amazon Prime. I didn't miss it during the summer months, but I do now! I would love to follow The Crown again, and I've heard such good things about Midsomer Murders. Glad the new puppy is settling in for you.

    1. We have both Netflix and Amazon Prime. I added Acorn TV to my Prime account and that's where I found Midsomer. Glad I did as it's been a great diversion these months.

  3. We've been watching Morse because we like British murder mysteries and we enjoyed Endeavor. We can still get them through our LA Public Library cards.
I get it on the sunshine bit--I need me some sunshine. I hope you are getting enough in BC right now.
Have a happy, safe and healthy week ahead.

  5. I can't imagine 21 seasons of a show!! I'm having trouble getting through the 4th season of 13 Reasons Why but that's because we have a new pup LOL :) I did hear the Queen's Gambit was a good series! Glad you had lots of sunshine. I can take the cold as long as there is sunshine outside! Happy weekend!

    1. In some ways I enjoyed the earlier seasons of The Crown more but it's still enjoyable.

  8. Sunshine and blue skies affect my mood, too. Glad you had both this week! I haven't met in-person with anyone, but a good friend and I had our own Zoom--meeting and it was a lot of fun. It's good the new puppy is adjusting well.
